Local businesses in Bath have overwhelmingly voted in support of the Bath Business Improvement District (BID), resulting in a further five-year term for the organisation.
A ballot was held over the renewal of the Bath BID on October 24, with 96.4 per cent voting in favour. A total of 311 valid votes were cast in the ballot.
Allison Herbert, chief executive of Bath BID, said: “This vote of confidence reflects the strength of our business community and its shared commitment to Bath’s commercial success.
“As a business-led and business-funded organisation, the Bath BID’s vision is to make the businesses’ collective investment in Bath a driving force for a vibrant city — one that attracts customers, investors, staff and visitors, and ensures long-term success.
With 96.4% in favour, the ballot result confirms that Bath BID will continue delivering services and support until 2031.”
Over the next term, the BID is mandated to focus on four strategic pillars to improve the city’s appeal and resilience. These include cleansing, security, promotion and partnership.
The Bath BID is led by Alison Herbert and is supported by a board of local business leaders. The organisation is funded by levy payers via an annual contribution based on their rateable value.
