Hampshire-based housebuilder Bargate has submitted a Reserved Matters planning application for 25 homes in the sought-after village of Whiteparish, south Wiltshire.
The 4.2-acre site, situated southeast of Salisbury, was granted outline planning permission by Wiltshire Council last year, shortly before it was acquired by Bargate for an undisclosed sum.
The scheme will comprise a range of 15 open-market executive houses and bungalows, three- two and three-bedroom houses to be sold as First Homes, and seven affordable dwellings to be delivered to Bargate’s parent company, VIVID.
A large portion of the site is designated for the creation of a play area, attenuation basin and nearly two acres of public parkland.
All the houses will feature solar PV panels, air source heat pumps and EV charging points.
Mark White, managing director for Bargate, said: “It has been a decade since Bargate last delivered new homes in Wiltshire and since that time Whiteparish has won the accolade of ‘Best Kept Village in Wiltshire’, so demand for homes here continues to be high.
“Our proposed designs reflect how special this site is, which benefits from a sustainable and accessible location between Salisbury and Romsey, with glorious countryside views and footpaths leading through to the New Forest.
“While the 25 homes will be constructed to the highest energy performance standards, traditional elevation details for the red brick homes are set to include bay windows and scalloped tile hanging, to complement and add to the appeal of the village, parts of which date back to the 12th Century.
“We will continue to work with Council officers, elected members and stakeholders as this planning application progresses.”
KSA Architects provided the designs for the reserved matters application.
