An appeal and a new application is to be launched to try to deliver the 473-home Friary Quarter scheme in Guildford.

St Edward Homes’ plans for a series of buildings of between four and 13 storeys, a bus interchange and 2,358 sq m of class E space in North Street was refused by Guildford Borough Council in January.

The grounds included the amount of affordable housing, building heights and the impact on the character of the town.

But St Edward, a joint venture between Berkeley Homes and M&G Real Estate, has stated on its dedicated website for the scheme it has continued to consult on its plans on a revised application and is also launching an appeal.

A webinar will be held on Wednesday, June 28 and feedback will be requested until July 7.
