Law firm Blandy & Blandy, which has offices in Reading and Henley-on-Thames, has donated £1,000 to two local NHS focused charities.
Earlier this year, the firm adopted BIBS – Babies in Buscot Support and the Royal Berks Charity, both based at the Royal Berkshire Hospital.
Chairman Brenda Long said: “In July, following applications from over 100 causes, our staff chose to support these two fantastic local charities.
“We are immensely grateful to all those on the front line during this pandemic and we look forward to fundraising for BIBS and the Royal Berks Charity in the years ahead.”
Sarah Critchley, chief executive of Babies in Buscot Support, said: “BIBS is absolutely delighted to receive the donation from Blandy & Blandy. Coming during this festive period, the funds will help towards the cost of Christmas gifts for all the babies, parents, siblings and more than 80 staff who do such wonderful work on Buscot Ward and transitional care within maternity, throughout the year.”
Jo Warrior, director at the Royal Berks Charity, said: “I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone at Blandy & Blandy for this generous donation.
“We were delighted to be nominated as one of the firm’s supported charities earlier this year, and are incredibly grateful for the support. These essential funds will help us achieve our goals to enhance care and improve lives for patients and staff at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust.”
Blandy & Blandy has donated close to £100,000 to local charities and causes in the past decade.
Charitable activity this year has included donating food parcels to the Readifood food bank, participating in the Reading Legal Walk in aid of free legal advice services, winning the Reading Pancake Race, organised by Launchpad, and mentoring students through the Young Enterprise competition.
