A team from Blaser Mills Law won the coveted Jansons Rowing Cup at the annual tournament at Dorney Lake.
The Blaser Mills team’s time, which was one minute 21 seconds, was just one second ahead of the team from Ridge at the June 14 event. Most improved team was Lewis & Partners while Flourish & Partners was awarded the Crabbed Oar for finishing last.
The annual competition, which started in 2016, raises funds for Myocarditis UK and this year’s event raised £10,000. More than 90 people in 13 teams from local and regional businesses took part including:

- Evoke Transport
- Flourish PR
- Haslams Chartered Surveyors
- i-Transport

Jansons Property managing director Andy Jansons said: “For the eighth year in a row this event has been a great success, bringing together the local business community to network and fundraise.
“This year all tickets sold out in advance, and I’m delighted to say that the money raised has gone to Myocarditis UK which reached a major fundraising milestone recently of £1 million. Thank you to everyone who attended and made it a fantastic event!”
The lunchtime event ended with an awards ceremony and a barbecue to celebrate the day.
Hiren Gandhi, partner at Blaser Mills Law, said: “We’ve been taking part in Jansons Property Rowing Cup for five years. After winning once before, four years ago, we’re delighted to scoop the Jansons Cup again in 2023.
“Winning the Cup is a bonus as the main highlight for the team is being able to support Myocarditis UK, and their tireless efforts to raise money for the rare heart condition. Although we are now tired and drained, it has been well worth the effort.”
