George Smale has been appointed senior planner in the Wokingham office of planning and design consultancy Boyer.

He joins from the public sector, following experience at Epsom & Ewell Borough Council and Wokingham Borough Council.

During four years at those local authorities, he advised wide-ranging, high-profile residential and commercial schemes.

In his new role at Boyer, George will contribute to a variety of projects across the South of England, promoting land for housing and other uses through the development plan process, as well as supporting the preparation and delivery of planning applications.

Commenting on the appointment, Karen Charles, executive director and head of Boyer Wokingham, said:We’re delighted to welcome George to the team. His insight from working within local authorities gives him a clear understanding of how planning decisions are made in practice, which is invaluable to our clients.

“George’s enthusiasm and fresh perspective will be a real asset as we continue to deliver high-quality outcomes across the South of England.”
