Brent has approved two separate projects in Kilburn, which will provide 185 homes instead of car parks and garages.
The first proposal at Windmill Court is for the demolition of a car park and 16 maisonettes being replaced with two buildings of 7 storeys providing 60 flats on either side of the existing Windmill Court Tower. There will be an internal reconfiguration of the existing tower ground and first floor and an extension of a community centre.
Forty-two homes at Watling Gardens and Claire Court will be demolished, including the car parking and substation. The new development of three buildings will provide 125 flats of which 45 will be adapted for extra care.
The two developments located on Shoot Up Hill are expected to improve security for residents with the removal of the car park. Residents expressed concerns about increased pollution from the developments.
