Cala Homes has secured Reserved Matters approval for three new phases of Nobel Park in Didcot, meaning a further 311 new homes will be constructed, 75 will be affordable homes.
South Oxfordshire District Council have approved the development, which will be based at the already existing Nobel Park community, which includes a mix of two, three, and four-bedroom affordable homes.
The additional 311 homes will bring the total number of homes at Nobel Park to 945. The proposal includes a mix from one to five-bedroom homes, the range of options providing suitable homes across demographics from first-time buyers, all the way to established families and long-term renters.
Each new home will be equipped with EV charging points, and PV panels are being used where possible to help residents reduce carbon emissions.
The new development will also include new public open spaces, green landscaping, roadside tree planting and play facilities. Under Cala’s Urban Wildlife Strategy, features to support wildlife will be incorporated into every new home, including bird nesting features and hedgehog-friendly fencing.
Location
Nobel Park sits within what is known as a “Golden Triangle”, of the A34, M40 and M4, with connectivity across the region and beyond. The development also has a link to the National Cycle Network. Didcot Parkway railway station is the nearest rail connection.
Comments
Charlie Rafferty, land director at Cala (Chiltern), said: “Our latest phase of 311 new homes will form the next exciting stage of developing the wider Nobel Park community and strengthen our presence in Didcot, where we have already constructed 356 much needed new homes.
“It is also another important step towards supporting South Oxfordshire District Council with its ongoing target of ensuring housing availability and affordability across the county.
“Across the wider Nobel Park development, we are pleased to be delivering a range of additional community benefits including secondary and primary schools, a neighbourhood centre, a nature park, a new sports pavilion and pitches as well as community allotments and an orchard- all of which benefit from surrounding open green space.
“We’re looking forward to starting construction of these new homes and providing people with the opportunity to live in this beautiful, well-connected neighbourhood.”
