Cambridge Ahead has announced Dan Thorp as its new chief executive.
Mr Thorp has spent the last four years as Cambridge Ahead’s policy and programmes director and with his detailed knowledge of the region and dedication and commitment to advocating for continued sustainable and inclusive growth, he proved to be the outstanding candidate.
Mr Thorp replaces Jane Paterson-Todd, who stepped down from the role.
Harriet Fear, chair of Cambridge Ahead said: “I am delighted that Dan will be leading the important work Cambridge Ahead does both locally and nationally to advocate for good long term economic growth.
“He represents the values Cambridge Ahead and our members hold so dear, in particular how the organisation engages with elected representatives and policymakers to make a difference.’’
Upon appointment on July 3, Dan Thorp said: “I am thrilled to have been appointed to lead Cambridge Ahead through this next stage of its evolution.
“I’m also excited by the opportunity we have in front of us. Building on the role Cambridge Ahead has forged in bringing the academic, business, and civic community together for the common good of our city, we can now go even further in helping shape a thriving economy which seeks to enhance the region for the good of all communities.”
