A 70-bed care home and seven houses are planned for a site opposite Sainsbury’s in Calcot.
Barchester Healthcare along with W Cumber & Son of Theale have submitted a hybrid application to West Berkshire Council to develop a one hectare site in Dorking Way off the A4 Bath Road.
It seeks full permission for the care home and outline permission for the houses. The application is a resubmission of two previous applications which were withdrawn.
In 2019, an application for a restaurant/bar and 28 homes on the site, previously a depot for the M4 smart motorway works, was dismissed at appeal.
The team on the current project includes Walsingham on planning and TDC on architecture.
