Carter Jonas has appointed Jason Capel as head of new homes in the eastern region, and Megan Cracknell as senior negotiator.
Capel joins the firm from Bidwells, where he was been responsible for building the brand across the region for 11 years, whilst overseeing relationships with small to mid-size developers and selling new homes and land.
In his new role, he is looking to further increase the number of new homes sites and units on the market with Carter Jonas, specifically within Cambridgeshire and Suffolk, where the firm has high visibility residential offices.
He will also focus on maximising relationships across the company’s residential, commercial, planning and development, and rural teams, to ensure buyers, developers and landowners can have maximum benefit from firms’ national network.
Megan Cracknell will support both Capel and Anton Frost, head of residential in the eastern regions, working with developers on new schemes and seeing the process through to completion of sales, having previously worked in new homes for Redmayne Arnold & Harris.
Jason Capel, head of new homes, eastern region, said: “With so much demand for housing and a shortage of stock, particularly in key city locations, such as Cambridge, Bath, Oxford and York, there is a renewed appreciation for the new homes sector that wasn’t there 10-years-ago, when I started out. The whole process, from land viability to the marketing of a new development, is much more sophisticated and I’m excited to be able to have the Carter Jonas name behind me moving forward, to really maximise our efforts in the East and beyond.
With Carter Jonas having such a good reputation nationally, and with offices in London and key regional centres, my first focus will be to help drive business from central London to the East – starting with Cambridge – where the transport links are excellent, and the reputation of the city is at an all-time high.”
Lisa Simon, head of residential, said: “It is a pleasure to welcome Jason and Megan to our team. Their range of experience will help our team to expand our developer relations, client base and provide a first-class service to buyers who look to Carter Jonas to really guide them through the sales process. Through these appointments, we envisage a big uptick in our New Homes footprint across the East, with the clear aim of becoming a major player in Cambridge.”
They will both be based in Cambridge and split their time across Carter Jonas’ three city-centre offices.
