A Meet the Construction Buyer event is being put on by Epping Forest District Council.

The free event is designed to allow trade businesses to discover more about the various construction projects happening across the district and meet representatives from major players such as Higgins, Pellikaan and Qualis Group.

Developers and contractors will be on hand to discuss construction-related supply chain opportunities, the range of products, skills, and services required, and how to successfully tender for work.

There will also be training and skills providers who can support up-skilling needs and advise on the advantages of offering apprenticeships.

The event, funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, will also include representatives such as:

  • Davis Construction
  • EFDC planning and procurement teams
  • GS8 London
  • Harlow College
  • New City College
  • TrAC (Essex preferred shared apprenticeship provider)
  • Vistry

Cllr John Philip, cabinet member for finance and economic development said: “This event is the first of its kind for the district and is a wonderful opportunity for local businesses to find out more about up-and-coming projects they can get involved with.

“Events like this help to build stronger relationships within a community, mixing big industry names with local highly skilled individuals and those looking to develop their skill set.

“The Council is committed to supporting local businesses, helping our economy to grow which everyone in the community will benefit from.

Together we can build a picture of what skills, services and products the district has to offer that we can call upon for future construction needs.”

Booking is essential for the event which is at the Conference Suite at Epping Forest District Council Civic Offices, High Street, Epping on Thursday, March 14 from 4pm – 8pm.
