Catesby Estates has completed the sale of a 5.6-acre site in Wokingham to housebuilder Stonebond.

Development of the site, off Longwater Road in Finchampstead, adjoining the emerging Blackwater Country Park, will deliver 38 homes through a consented scheme, submitted to Wokingham Borough Council in 2024 by Catesby in partnership with Stonebond.

The scheme includes public open space, walking and cycling routes and there will be improvements to local bus services during peak times.

Andy Wright, associate land director for Catesby Estates, said: “This new development represents an important opportunity to deliver affordable new homes in Finchampstead.  We are also pleased that the plans for the site include funding for improved bus services, which will strengthen connectivity for existing and new residents alike.”

Matthew Whale, managing director of Stonebond Guildford, said: “As a partnerships developer we’re always looking to work with landowners and other partners who are seeking to deliver high quality, mixed-tenure housing.

“This development will not only deliver high-quality affordable housing but also create a well-connected, sustainable community with enhanced green spaces and links to the surrounding countryside.

“We look forward to working with Catesby Estates again in the future to bring forward schemes that make a real difference for local people.”

The price was not disclosed.
