Residents of Ealing are being invited to share their opinions on an ambitious new regional park project that promises to transform the area for future generations.

The concept plan, developed in collaboration with the esteemed architects Prior and Partners, envisions a vibrant green space akin to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, which they also helped design for the 2012 London Olympics.

Feedback from over 6,000 residents, alongside input from community groups and stakeholders, has been instrumental in shaping the park’s vision. A public consultation held at the end of 2023 revealed strong support, with 77 per cent of respondents backing the initiative.

The proposed park will feature an 8-kilometre stretch of interconnected green spaces along the River Brent, from Horsenden Hill to Warren Farm. This development aims to enhance the health and wellbeing of the local community, acting as a vital green lung for the city. It will also address climate change by improving air quality, reducing flood risks, and providing wildlife habitats.

Council leader Peter Mason highlighted the park’s potential to significantly benefit the environment and community. Meanwhile, Councillor Blerina Hashani emphasised the park’s cultural and recreational offerings, including a sports hub, cycle trails, yoga spaces, play areas, and an amphitheatre for cultural events.

The consultation process, which began on 10 March, invites residents to contribute their views online until 6 April. This is a unique opportunity for the community to shape a landmark project that promises to be more than just a day out, offering diverse experiences for nature, culture, and sports enthusiasts alike.
