Blenheim Estate Homes has partnered with zero-waste store The Village Refill to create an Eco Living Guide.
The launch of the guide, designed to help homeowners live more sustainably and reduce everyday costs, coincides with the launch of Blenheim Estate Homes’ most sustainable development yet, Hill Rise in Woodstock, which is set to welcome its first residents in Autumn.
The Village Refill, a local one-stop shop in Yarnton offering sustainable refills of household essentials, has been working with the housebuilder to develop the free guide that provides homeowners with advice such as on how to minimise waste and lower energy consumption.
It will be available to all Hill Rise residents as well as the wider community. A series of supporting blogs will be posted on the Blenheim Estate Homes website.
Karis McMahon-Lane (pictured left), property marketing manager for Blenheim Estate Homes, said: “Our partnership with The Village Refill, a local business that shares our values around sustainability and community, aligns with our vision and one we’re truly proud of. Hill Rise is a fantastic step forward for us, as it will feature the most energy-efficient homes we have created to date, setting new standards for low-carbon housing.
“Living sustainably can often sound more daunting than it needs to be; the Eco Living Guide is all about educating and inspiring homeowners with practicable, affordable ways to make a positive difference on their household budgets and the environment.”
Maya Ellis (pictured right) from The Village Refill said: “Our goal has always been to make sustainable living simple and accessible, and by sharing our expertise through this partnership and our Eco Living Guide, we hope to show that small changes, such as choosing refill products, can have a lasting impact on both the planet and people’s pockets.”
To celebrate the partnership and the launch of the new guide, homeowners and members of the local community can also enter a draw to win an eco prize bundle which features palace, park and gardens family annual passes to Blenheim Palace, afternoon tea for two at Blenheim Palace, as well as a £100 online order voucher for The Village Refill.
Hill Rise was launched last year by Blenheim Estate Homes and its build partner Pye Homes.
The low-carbon development will deliver up to 180 new homes, with an initial phase of 48 already under construction. The scheme will consist of a combination of two, three, and four-bedroom properties and includes a 50 proportion of affordable homes.
