Leading figures behind the redevelopment of the Royal Berkshire Hospital have agreed to join us for an exclusive event.
Alison Foster (pictured), programme director for Building Berkshire Together, which is driving the project for the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust, has agreed to give a presentation and hold a Q&A at a UK Property Forums members-only lunchtime session in Reading town centre.
She will be joined by a representative from architectural practice Scott Tallon Walker which is working with the trust.
As exclusively revealed by Thames Tap, the Royal Berks is one of the initial 48 sites on the Government’s new hospitals programme and could be redeveloped or moved to a new site.
Estimates vary but costs to move could be around £1.3 billion while redeveloping on-site could be around £750 million.
UK Property Forums managing director Matthew Battle said: “The issue around the Royal Berks is a huge one to our industry so it is particularly pleasing to be able to say to our members that we have the key people involved and that they can speak to them directly.
“Members only events are more private and have more of a close-knit feel so it’s a great opportunity to ask Alison and a representative from the architects the important questions that are of interest to them.”
The event, Operation Royal Berks, is on November 2 from 12pm – 2pm.
