Reading’s Station Hill developer Lincoln MGT says the fire at its Build-to-Rent flats on Friday (July 7) will not delay the scheme’s completion.

Firefighters responded to the blaze at 3.42pm and 10 crews attended the incident which broke out on the 12th and 13th floors of the scheme of 600 flats which is under construction in Garrard Street.

No-one was injured and crews were stood down at 6.15pm.

In a statement to Thames Tap, Lincoln MGT said: “We can confirm that there was a fire on-site at Station Hill on Friday afternoon which was quickly contained with all teams evacuated safely.

“The evacuation protocol was successfully deployed, and the construction teams have the matter fully in hand. There will be no impact to the completion program and no effects to the leasing viewings.”
