Thatcham Garden Centre has unveiled radical redevelopment plans to add commercial units, including start-up space and a drive-thru.

Owner Paulin & Wilson has applied to West Berkshire Council to create commercial start-up units (Use Class E(g)), a flexible commercial, business, service unit (Use Class E, excluding E(d), E(e), and E(f)) and a drive-thru cafe (Use Class E), together with parking, landscaping and associated works.

The proposed development of the 3.6-hectare, part greenfield, part brownfield, Bath Road site is intended to secure additional economic and retail opportunities to strengthen the offer on-site and make it more viable.

The team on the project includes Rackham Planning, iB Architects, GS Ecology and Evoke Transport Planning.
