Gladman Developments has submitted plans for up to 90 homes at Shrivenham.

The housebuilder has applied to Vale of White Horse District Council to develop a 4.47-hectare, agricultural site off Townsend Road on the western edge of the village, bordering the A420. A total of 35 per cent of the homes would be affordable.

Gladman’s plans for 85 homes on the site were refused in 2018, partly because councillors felt the scheme was beyond the built limits of the settlement and it would represent an extension into the countryside.

However, the developer has argued that subsequent neighbouring developments have altered the landscape context of the site.
