Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner has stepped in to grant permission for a 72,000 sq m data centre in Iver.
Greystoke and Altrad’s plans to build the hyperscale data centre called West London Technology Park on 22.15 hectares of landfill at Woodlands Park, south of Slough Road had twice been refused by Buckinghamshire Council but a subsequent appeal led to a recommendation to approve.
Now Ms Rayner has stepped in to say the scheme, which includes two buildings, ancillary office space, provision for emergency back-up generators on the wings of each building, and an electricity substation can go ahead.
The project was designed by Future Tech and planned by Pegasus. Its ecological impact assessment was carried out by Bioscan.
