Hounslow Planning Committee has approved the sustainable extension of Whitelocke House in the centre of Hounslow, close to the council offices.
The proposal is to erect two additional storeys to create a six-storey building to provide eight additional self-contained flats. Each flat has access to private amenity space through a balcony. The building would be constructed in brick and cladding, in keeping with the locality.
Whitelocke House has had a previous development approved as a change of use from offices to a residential building with 32 apartments in 2017.
The proposal provides eight dwellings of an acceptable standard of accommodation, in a highly sustainable scheme, demonstrating zero carbon, through a fabric first approach, sustainable construction practices and maximised use of the roof space to generate on-site electricity via solar PV panels.
