Plans by Wrenbridge to redevelop the former Berkshire County Council Shire Hall site at Shinfield have been submitted to Wokingham Borough Council.

Plans for five industrial buildings totalling a gross internal area of 20,102 sq m are proposed to replace the former council’s home, now known as Shinfield Park and last used by Wood Group until it moved to Green Park last Summer.

Buildings in the development will range in size from one which comprises two units of 1,106 sq m to the largest standalone building of 8,030 sq m.  Use classes include E(g)(ii)-(iii), B2 and B8.

The vacant four-storey Shire Hall building, totals 77, 642 sq m of floorspace including offices, basement parking and amenity space across the 5.5-hectare site.

The team on the project includes Stantec on planning, Iceni on transport and Chetwoods on architecture.
