Jade Uko has been appointed regional director for the South East for built environment communications consultancy Meeting Place.

Jade has extensive experience in local government, public affairs and stakeholder engagement across the region. The former unitary councillor in Bedfordshire served on the planning committee and led on health and adult social care in both committee and group capacities.

Her early career began in corporate communications, qualifying in public relations before moving into politics and working alongside an MP.

She has advised on projects across a wide variety of sectors including life sciences, leisure and heritage.

In addition to her new role at Meeting Place, Jade is also the Federation of Small Businesses East of England chair.
