Leading public and private sector figures will discuss Berkshire’s office market and its key road and rail issues at a conference at ONE Station Hill next month.
Delegates at UK Property Forums’ BerksProp Summit on October 8 will hear from some of the most active agents, key developers and investors and figures working on the county’s infrastructure.
As well as the political scene, Heathrow expansion and its effects on Berkshire will be up for discussion and the event will include a run down of Reading’s groundbreaking Station Hill development from those leading it including Alex Aitchison, managing director of Lincoln Property Company (pictured).
Speaking for and on behalf of the Station Hill joint venture, he said: “We are really pleased to be involved with – and supporting – this year’s BerksProp Summit on 8 October at ONE Station Hill, Reading.
“The summit is a key event for local and regional businesses and coincides with an exceptionally busy time for Station Hill, with our global brand tenants including PwC, Pepsi Co and Kenvue (formerly part of Johnson & Johnson) fitting out their spaces to join our existing tenants NewFlex, Siren Craft Brew, Notes, Kawaii, 1650 Coffee Co. and Angelos in the coming months within the development.
“After a long journey, ONE Station Hill, the surrounding public realm and the link bridge to our Ebb&Flow rental apartment community is now very much open for business and already helping to play a significant role in the regeneration of Reading town centre. These are exciting times for Berkshire.”
The event kicks off with a breakfast briefing, moderated by UK Property Forums managing director Matthew Battle, with agents, Guy Parkes, partner at Vail Williams, Michael Garvey MBE, managing director of Chandler Garvey and Dan Channer, group managing director of Haslams Estate Agents.
Potential political changes will be discussed in a session led by Alison Webster, chief executive of Thames Valley Skills & Business Hub, which will include Rob Allaway, managing director of DevComms and Emma Gee, executive director economic growth for Reading Borough Council.
SEGRO will host a session on AI and the need for data centres and Berkeley Homes managing director Elkie Russell and Rachel Wood, managing director of Sladen Estates will discuss housing and planning, along with Mike Knott, planning director of Stantec.
More leading figures are expected to join the debates.
UKPF managing director Matthew Battle said: “To have such support and co-operation from Alex Aitchison at the Lincoln Property Company has been a great endorsement for this summit and helped raise the profile.
“This event will really lead the discussion on where the office market, the local economy and the political make up of the area is going. I expect Heathrow expansion and all its possible knock-on effects to be a big part of that debate.
“BerksProp Summit offers a rare opportunity to get a cross-section of the property community in one room to discuss the many issues driving the county’s economy.”
