A joint venture between Vistry Group and Kier Property has acquired a site for 343 homes in Wokingham.

The consented land at Holme Meadows in South Wokingham, is the first phase of a bigger development in which a further 298 plots have been identified for delivery in future phases.

The development will follow a mixed-tenure model, comprising 65 per cent private sale homes and 35 per cent affordable.

A reserved matters planning application is currently under consideration, with a decision expected shortly. Construction is expected to start this year.

The site forms part of Wokingham Borough Council’s vision for more than 1,400 new homes to the south of the town.

Trevor Wicks, managing director of Vistry Thames Valley, said: “This acquisition marks a pivotal step in our partnership with Kier Property, who share our ambition to bring this significant development to life with high-quality, mixed-tenure homes. We are committed to creating a sustainable community that meets local needs and supports the wider infrastructure strategy for South Wokingham.”

Leigh Thomas, group managing director for Kier Property, said: “We’re proud to be moving forward with this important development within our key strategic partnership with Vistry.

“South Wokingham is our third scheme with Vistry and is a key location that offers a unique chance to deliver a thriving, well-connected and sustainable community that complements the overarching masterplan.”
