Planning permission has been granted for a new therapies and outpatients building at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, replacing older facilities and supplying modern, high-quality therapy services.

The building is purpose-built for treatment and rehabilitation. It will include 14 private consultation rooms, a rehabilitation gym, a dedicated hand therapy area, physiotherapy cubicles, and specialist rooms for orthotics

Comments

Jenny Ricketts, Chief Nurse for the Trust, said: “The new therapies building will make a real difference for the patients we support every day.

“It gives our teams the space they need to deliver excellent rehabilitation and therapy services and reflects our commitment to providing the very best care”

Charmaine Hope, Chief Estates and Facilities Officer, said “This project is part of our long-term commitment to transform the Trust estate and improve services.

“By creating modern facilities in place of the outdated Therapies building, we’re building a future-ready environment that meets the needs of our community and supports high-quality care”

Development plans

The new building is due for completion by the end of 2026. In the meantime, current therapy and orthotics services have temporarily moved to the Cromwell Building during construction.
