David Lloyd Clubs has been given planning approval for a new state-the-art-health, fitness and wellness club at Harlow Innovation Park. 

Officers at Harlow Council approved the plan in a delegated decision.

The new club near Newhall will create 80 – 100 jobs on top of around 60 construction jobs.

The new family-friendly Club will include:

  • A state-of-the-art gym offering personal training
  • Heated indoor and outdoor swimming pools
  • Children’s indoor and outdoor swimming pools
  • Stars swimming and tennis coaching programmes
  • Premium group exercise studios
  • Family facilities including indoor soft play and DL Kids Club
  • Match-quality tennis, padel, pickleball and badminton facilities
  • Luxury spa with spa garden
  • A clubroom for members to socialise

Cllr Dan Swords, leader of Harlow Council, said: “One of the council’s missions is to secure investment for Harlow’s future and we are working hard to do just that.

“This is a huge investment from a leading leisure brand which will provide a fantastic new David Lloyd state-of-the-art health, fitness, and wellness club. With David Lloyd Clubs choosing to come to Harlow it will send out a serious message that Harlow is the place for investment and opportunity.

“The new club will create hundreds of new jobs for local people and will be an added addition to the already thriving Harlow Innovation Park. We are extremely excited and look forward to working with David Lloyd Clubs to provide new opportunities for our residents.”
