Swaffield Road Car Park in Tooting will be transformed into flats and housing with a new public realm.
Wandsworth Council Planning Committee approved the change at the meeting on August 21 2024.
The proposal is to Redevelop the private car park site to provide a three-floor building containing six flats and three terraced dwellings, with basement car parking for residents of Earlsfield House. Public access linking Oakshaw Road and Swaffield Road will also be provided.
The accommodation will be marketed as car-free as the underground car park has been provided for the residents of nearby Earlsfield House; however, the following benefits will accrue:
- The proposed development would present attractive elevations consistent with other examples in the street scene.
- The flats and houses would all be constructed to high environmental standards.
- The houses would include utility rooms and cinema/media rooms, providing indoor amenity space for modern lifestyles.
The applicant is SPGSR Ltd, and the architects are Dust Architects.
