After 25 years in Castle Street, Reading, property consultant Hicks Baker has moved across town to sleek new offices in Duke Street and rebranded.
The firm has taken a 10-year lease on newly refurbished space at Duke St Studios. Hicks Baker has taken the entire top floor and designed the space for modern requirements.
Its new paperless and hotdesking office has a mix of permanent desks (including ‘rise and fall’ ones for seated or standing use, a touch down table, a large meeting room with the latest video conferencing equipment and a phone box for private calls.
Substantial investment in IT has created ‘one cable’ connections in all 29 work locations to ensure easy access to data and power.
Director Fiona Brownfoot said: “It’s a radical change but it has been fully embraced by all staff and they are enjoying the collaboration and interaction that such an arrangement encourages.”
She said she wishes to thank landlord Thames Properties for being accommodating, Crown Interiors for the fit out and Workplace for the IT installation.
