A plan has been submitted to Buckinghamshire Council for a new service area on the M25 within the Colne Valley Regional Park.
Extra MSA Group has proposed, via Pegasus, the development on a site of just under 40 hectares between J16 and J17. The site is within the Metropolitan Green Belt but the area is also being dug up for HS2. Development would take up to two years.
Extra’s previous plan for a service area between the two junctions on the west side of the motorway at Warren Farm were dismissed at appeal.
The new scheme, drawn up by Arup, includes a facilities building and a fuel filling station. Parking for all vehicles (light vehicles, HGVs, coaches, caravans/motor homes, motorcycles and abnormal loads) is proposed, as well as electric vehicle charging points and landscaping.
