LOM Architects and Waterfall Planning Ltd. have submitted plans to convert the derelict Hampton Waterworks into 36 homes and office space.
The plans will end the deterioration and restore the listed heritage waterworks buildings, Kerslake, Ruston, and Ward. Original heritage equipment from the buildings will be displayed on the site.
Richmond had rejected the previous application for 37 homes due to a loss of industrial space and a lack of affordable housing.
Thirty-six new high-quality residential dwellings will be created for Richmond: 16 one-bedroom, 11 two-bedroom, seven three-bedroom, and two four-bedroom units. There will be 39 parking places, an increase in planting, and a roof terrace.
The location will provide a gateway to Hampton with newly restored buildings on the Lower and Upper Sunbury Roads.
The development will require a listed building consent. An affordable housing offer is not highlighted in the proposal.
A date for a decision has yet to be agreed.
