The Hammersmith and Fulham planning committee has given the green light to a significant development project on Olympia Way, further enhancing the already approved improvements to this iconic London destination.

Located at Olympia Way, Hammersmith Road, London, W14 8UX, the proposal is strategically divided into two phases, each designed to transform the area while respecting its historical context.

Phase 01 focuses on the installation of twelve single-storey flexible pavilions, an events display screen structure, and both hard and soft landscaping. These elements aim to create a vibrant and engaging environment for visitors and locals alike. The pavilions will offer flexible commercial spaces, classified under Class E, allowing for a variety of uses that can adapt to the community’s needs.

Phase 02 involves the construction of a four-storey building adjacent to the station entrance. This building will replace an existing structure and provide additional commercial spaces, public toilets, station facilities, and cycle parking. Notably, the building will feature a green roof and photovoltaic panels, underscoring a commitment to sustainability.

The development also includes significant public realm improvements, such as landscaping and the installation of a digital screen for event advertising and wayfinding. This screen, managed by a dedicated audiovisuals company, will enhance the streetscape and provide a dynamic element to the area.

Olympia Way, a private road owned by the applicant, links several historic halls and a multi-storey car park. The project aims to animate and activate the streetscape, creating modern interventions that respect and enhance the setting of the surrounding Listed Buildings, ultimately enriching the visitor experience and supporting local businesses.

The applicant is  Olympus Property Holdings Limited.
