The Oxford Trust has topped out its newest development, the 17,000 sq ft Aspen Building at the Wood Centre for Innovation, in Headington, Oxford.
The trust has delivered the project with partner Beard Construction, which is also fitting out two floors of Class II laboratories and workspaces. The £17 million building is adjacent to the existing Linden Building and Science Oxford Centre, both integral parts of the Wood Centre for Innovation.
It is expected the Aspen Building will strengthen the Headington Science Cluster and further Oxford’s innovation ecosystem as a whole.
Both senior leadership and project partners attended the topping out event. Steve Burgess, chief executive of the Oxford Trust, was present and spoke on the building’s development.
He said: “Reaching the topping out of the Aspen Building at the Wood Centre for Innovation is a proud moment for The Oxford Trust and everyone involved in bringing this strategic project to life.
“This milestone reflects the dedication of our construction partners and our shared commitment to strengthening Oxford’s science and tech cluster by delivering more lab and workspace where innovative science and technology start-ups and scale-ups can grow. I’d like to thank Beard and the wider project team for their hard work, expertise and collaboration.”
The Aspen Building is now available to pre-let.
