Plans for 271 homes on a site at Carterton have been revealed in a screening opinion request.

Taylor Wimpey has asked West Oxfordshire District Council, via Boyer, for the opinion on whether an environmental impact assessment is required to develop a 8.97-hectare site on the edge of RAF Brize Norton between Upavon Way and Northwood Crescent. Planning was carried out by Pegasus.

A number of 1960s-built married quarters for the RAF were previously on the site. They were demolished in 2008. Since then, applications for 255 homes and 200 homes were approved in 2011 and 2013 respectively. These will be service family accommodation.

The developer wants to start construction in 2025.
