Outline plans have been submitted to Cotswold District Council for a 30-home residential development in Chipping Campden.
WR Haines has applied to for permission for the scheme on a parcel of land north of Olimpick Drive, on the edge of the town, off Dyers Lane.
The outline plans include a 40 per affordable housing allocation and the type, size and mix including tenure split will be agreed with the council during the application process.
Former plans for 76 dwellings submitted on a wider outline application area (of which the site is part of) were refused in 2015.
Agents Brodie Planning Associates, say in a planning statement: “The proposed development will provide much-needed housing in an established sustainable location, making a significant contribution toward supply requirements.”
“The application site immediately adjoins the market town of Chipping Campden, which is defined as a principal settlement in the adopted Cotswold District Local Plan as the most sustainable locations to deliver growth.
“Therefore, development on this site would result in new housing in an accessible location close to a settlement that ranks amongst the highest with regard to sustainability.
“The proposal would make an important contribution to local housing supply and would deliver much needed affordable housing. It would also support the vitality of the local services and facilities.”
The plans have been submitted following a public consultation in January.
