Plans for the £1 billion redevelopment of Cody Technology Park in Farnborough have been submitted to Rushmoor Borough Council.
Around 143,000 sq m of new and refurbished space will be delivered over a period of 10 to 15 years at the 407-acre park which is next to Farnborough Airport.
The redevelopment aims to transform the 280 acres of the site into a UK Centre of Excellence for defence, advanced technologies and AI.
The application by Phoenix DevCo Sarl states: “The proposed development forms a key part of a wider strategy of significant investment to transform Cody Technology Park (CTP) into an exemplar workplace for all and a globally recognised centre of excellence in the aviation, security, advanced technology and defence sectors.
“The vision is to position CTP as a centre of excellence for knowledge-based industries and to support Farnborough`s status as a ‘Growth Town’ within the Enterprise Sci:Tech Corridor.
“CTP will provide business accommodation in a first class secure environment, building on Farnborough`s reputation for high-tech research and development and delivering substantial economic benefits not just to the local area, but the UK as a whole.”
The park, which was acquired by Tristan Capital Partners from defence manufacturer QinetiQ last year, is managed by XLB.
The tea on the project includes PRC on architecture, masterplanning and landscape architecture, NWS as planning consultant and Motion as transport.
