HBD has submitted plans for 70,911sq ft of industrial space at Airport Business Park Southend (ABPS).

The developer, part of the Henry Boot, is seeking consent for a new development of nine industrial and logistics units ranging from 4,459 sq ft to 9,872 sq ft, plus a single detached unit of 16,451 sq ft. Each of the 10 units will target BREEAM Excellent.

The proposals follow the success of The Quad, a 12-unit scheme within the 25-ha development, a partnership between HBD and Southend City Council, is now fully occupied. The additional space will help meet demand from local SMEs.

Ed Hutchinson, managing director aof HBD, said: “Each of the 10 units are designed specifically for SMEs, providing the right space, connectivity and infrastructure for businesses looking to scale.

“Coupled with the Launchpad and various other facilities available on-site, occupiers benefit from a collaborative ecosystem designed to support growth. Subject to planning permission, we hope to start work on-site next summer.”

HBD has now completed a total of 355,550sq ft at ABPS.
