Nicholas King New Homes has applied to build up to 249 homes at Kingston Bagpuize with Southmoor.
The privately-owned housebuilder has submitted outline plans to Vale of White Horse District Council for the development on 11.3 hectares of arable farming land at Spring Hill.
The application’s design and access statement concludes: “The proposed development has been sensitively designed with due consideration to the local vernacular to produce a development that sits harmoniously within the wider context of Kingston Bagpuize with Southmoor.
“Kingston Bagpuize with Southmoor sits within the Larger Villages Classification which are recognised within the Development Plan as sustainable locations for further growth.
“This is represented by previous committed residential development in the village and future growth allocated within the adopted Local Plan Part 2.
“Land North of Spring Hill provides the opportunity to develop further residential development in a location that is highly sustainable and suitable to meet the needs of the District and the Sub Area.
“The site at Spring Hill provides the opportunity to meet these housing needs without further release of land within the Oxford Green Belt.”
The team on the project includes Walsingham Planning, BHPH Architects, DTA on transport and Forge Engineering Design Solutions on flood risk.
