UKPF will join Berkshire LEP at UKREiiF in Leeds next month so we asked event director Nathan Spencer to tell us about this relatively new fixture in the property diary.

In our latest Battle & Bunce podcast, Mr Spencer explains how the property exhibition has evolved and how organisers attracted hundreds of private and public sector organisations to take part in the three-day festival of property on May 16 – 18 at Royal Armouries Dock in Leeds.

He acknowledged that some are suggesting the event is a UK version of MIPIM.

However Mr Spencer said UKREiiF had more UK attendees than MIPIM last year but it seeks to differentiate itself rather than compete.

He said: “There is going to be comparisons but we are trying to make it that there is enough differences as well. We are not saying it’s one or the other (for delegates) from our side. It’s about making UKREiiF its own event.”

UKPF and Berkshire LEP will bring representatives from Station Hill developer Lincoln Property Company, West Berkshire Council, the British Film Commission and Lambert Smith Hampton as part of the group promoting the region.

The line up so far includes:

Matthew Battle – managing director, UK Property Forums

Steve Norris – national head – planning, regeneration & infrastructure, Lambert Smith Hampton

Alison Webster – chief executive, Berkshire Local Enterprise Partnership

Alex Aitchison, managing director, Lincoln Property Company

Jeremy Pelzer – consultant (formerly head of stage space strategy), British Film Commission

Chris Scott – development director, Muse Developments

Lynne Doherty – leader and district strategy and communications, West Berkshire Council
