Plans to redevelop railway sidings in Swindon into a scheme of 262 homes and 142 sq m of Class E uses have been approved.

Swindon Borough Council’s planning committee gave One Swindon’s proposals for outline consent for its Newburn Sidings development the thumbs up at its October 8 meeting.

The plans had been scaled down from an initial proposal for 368 homes with 320 sq m of Class E uses.

The Anderson + Prescott design features a mix of one, two, and three-storey townhouses with up to four bedrooms, along with one and two-bedroom apartments. There will be 332 car parking spaces and 551 cycle parking spaces.

Turley acted as planning consultant.
