RARE Commercial Property is now acting as sole agent to dispose of almost 60,000 sq ft of former SSE space at One Forbury Place in Reading.
The agent was initially marketing the second floor but Ovo Energy which has taken over the domestic retail element of SSE’s business has cut 2,600 jobs across the country including 260 of the total 1,900 people which were based at the Forbury Place building.
A breakdown of the 58,744 sq ft RARE will market shows:
- 27,177 sq ft on the second floor
- 27,177 sq ft on the third floor
- 4, 390 sq ft on the sixth floor
RARE director Jonathan Mannings said: “We are delighted to have been appointed by OVO Energy as their sole agents in the disposal of One Forbury Place.
“The accommodation represents some of the best Grade A accommodation available in the entire Thames Valley region and has the additional advantage of being fully furnished and offered on highly flexible lease terms from 24 months which will undoubtedly be of interest to occupiers seeking flexibility as they address their post-lockdown property requirements.
“The building boasts both an on-site coffee shop, staff restaurant and parking at a ratio of 1:827 sq ft which, for a town centre, is outstanding.
“We anticipate receiving strong interest from both occupiers already based in the Thames Valley and those looking to relocate from central London, given the building’s position only a few hundred metres from Reading station.”
