Berkeley Homes’ latest development of riverside apartments in Reading has been officially launched.

Reading Riverworks on the site of the former SSE offices, on the banks of the River Thames will include a tree-lined pedestrian and cycle access, which will eventually form part of a long-planned direct route between Reading Station underpass and Christchurch Bridge.

Properties on the development of more than 200 one, two and three-bedroom apartments, built in a warehouse style, start at £322,000.

Nigel Horton-Baker, chief executive of REDA, said: “Berkeley Homes’ Reading Riverworks development is transforming a former brownfield site to create over 200 high-quality apartments that embrace the Thames-side location and integrate new community access to the river at the heart of the development.

“Developments such as Reading Riverworks are creating new high-quality liveable spaces for people looking to develop a career locally in one of the UK’s most powerful economies. Reading is rich in global and local tech-driven companies with added easy access to Heathrow and central London.

“When you relocate, you’ll find Reading is a diverse, cultural city with a vibrant centre, lots of green space and waterways, but just 23 minutes from London.”
