Savills Cambridge has appointed Maxwell Fahie associate director in its development team.
Maxwell has worked in the property industry since 2007 – most recently at regional firm Cheffins where he led on residential development land sales within a 30-mile radius of Cambridge. He started his career on the graduate programme at Knight Frank.
In his new role he will specialise in the acquisition and disposal of development land opportunities and provide development consultancy and valuation advice across Cambridge and the wider area.
He said: “Savills has an exceptional reputation and is well respected for having great people and a collaborative, positive culture.
“The company works with outstanding clients on a variety of interesting and challenging projects and I’m looking forward to building on my experience at both a regional and national level to help drive future growth.
“The East of England land market is one that I know extremely well. Appetite for land has proved resilient across a range of parties – with optimum-sized sites in primary greenfield locations attracting greatest interest. A lack of supply has also meant that land values have remained relatively stable.
“Major housebuilders, partnership developers and privately funded developers all appear to be growing in confidence – with PLC housebuilders the most active. Whilst some are cautious and looking to preserve margins, others are bidding competitively on a range of site sizes, from 50 units to fill gaps in their pipelines through to larger sites to grow their number of outlets.”
Tom Fraser, who leads the development team and is head of office at Savills Cambridge, said: “It’s great to have Max on board. He has a comprehensive knowledge of the county and wider region and brings a great deal of experience, which will be to the benefit of clients and team members alike.
“His appointment signals our continued commitment to strengthening and growing our team in response to market forces and ensuring that we provide our clients with the very best service and advice.”
