Savills has appointed Claire Crofts as an associate director in its Architecture and Building Surveying (ABS) team.
Claire joins Savills with more than 25 years’ experience in the operational, contractual and commercial management of historic building repair.
She brings extensive knowledge of traditional repair techniques and has played a key role in delivering award-winning projects for her client base.
In her new role, Claire will provide advice in historic building repair, both internally and externally, bringing expertise in building pathology, the specification of repairs and the delivery of high-profile and complex projects.
She will be acting for clients varying from individual property owners to national institutions, working across a wide geographical area from Cambridgeshire across to the Welsh borders, and the M4 up to Peterborough.
Having grown up in rural Dorset, Claire developed an early appreciation for vernacular architecture and traditional craftsmanship.
Commenting on her appointment, Claire says: “Historic properties require thoughtful, practical solutions, and I’m excited to bring my experience in conservation management to the team.
“Savills has a strong reputation in this field, and I look forward to helping the guardians of our most special places navigate the challenges and opportunities of maintaining our built heritage.”
Mark Watt, director and head of ABS team at Savills, added: “Claire’s appointment represents a significant strategic strengthening of our national architecture and building surveying team, and in particular our historic buildings capability.
“Her expertise in conservation repair and her track record delivering nationally important projects will add real value to our clients and support the continued growth of our specialist offering across the central counties.
“We are delighted to welcome her to the team.”
