Oxford-based sandwich and deli company Taylors has announced plans to open a flagship café at the new Oxford North innovation district.
The new 80-seat Taylors Oxford North, due to open on March 2, will be part of the development’s first phase, which brings together new offices and laboratories, homes, public parks and amenities. It will be on the ground floor of The Red Hall, the scheme’s landmark hub for science and innovation start-ups and SMEs.
The café, Taylors’ ninth in the city, will initially open from Monday to Friday from 7.30am to 3pm, with plans to extend its hours as the district grows.
Chief executive Juri Vahala (pictured right) said: “In what is our fourth decade of operating, we’re thrilled to be bringing Taylors to Oxford North. This will be our ninth café and a flagship for our brand with stunning interiors and welcoming views.
“Oxford North is an exciting new place that aligns perfectly with our commitment to community, sustainability, and great coffee and food. We can’t wait to welcome our new customers when we open.”
Simon Ruck, managing director of Oxford North (pictured left) said: “We’re all about working with local businesses and so for Taylors to be partnering as our new café operator is great news for everyone. We have shared values in relation to quality, value, exceptional service and community.
“Taylors’ focus on local sourcing and creating welcoming spaces along with its much-loved wide-ranging menu will add real vibrancy to the new district and be a benefit for the companies based here as well as those people living locally and visiting.”
