Contractors have until Friday, March 12 to tender for work on a development of 193 homes in Slough.

Slough Borough Council is seeking a development partner for a £50 million scheme, – Tower House and Ashbourne House – of both low rise and high-rise residential buildings on a cleared site.

The council’s invitation states: “Slough Borough Council intends to appoint a Contractor to work as a collaborative partner to construct a new development of 193 homes for affordable rent, which includes both low rise and high-rise residential buildings on a cleared site.

“The works include external works and landscaping and are anticipated to commence in the winter of 2021. The value of the works are not known for certain and could be more or less our budget which is in the region of £46,000,000 – £60,000,000.

“As a first stage, the Council wishes to engage with the market to gain intelligence from organisations who can deliver housing construction services.

“The Council seeks feedback on how best to structure any procurement to meet both the market’s capability and the Council’s requirements.

“This is an opportunity for suppliers to feedback to Slough Borough Council and supplier participation is key. Details are provided within the briefing note which can be downloaded from the portal at the address provided.”
