Cheffins, the multi-disciplinary property advisors, have successfully let two units for BioMed Realty in their newest lab building at Babraham Research Campus.
5,258 sq ft of first floor accommodation will be leased by Trimtech Therapeutics. The company, led by chief executive Nicki Thompson, works on the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases. In March 2025, Trimtech secured 31 million USD in seed funding to further support the development of the company.
5,269 sq ft in the neighbouring suite will be leased by Tagomics. The firm is a pioneering biomarker discovery and diagnostics company which was co-founded by Dr Jack Kennefick and Dr Robert Neely in 2020.
Will Brown, director at Cheffins commercial department, said: “These lettings demonstrate the resilience of the Cambridge life sciences property market.
“Despite challenging macro-economic and political headwinds in the past 18 months or so, it shows that demand remains for fitted, bespoke laboratory space in established locations. It has been great to maintain the rental tone and welcome two new occupiers into BioMed’s portfolio.”
It is understood that both tenants will be operational in the building soon.
Carl Williams, from BioMed Realty, said: “We are delighted to offer a warm welcome to Trimtech and Tagomics to the BioMed portfolio. They join as neighbours to Insmed and Mosaic in the same building. The collaborative approach between our new customers, BioMed and Cheffins has been great to see, and we wish them continued success in spearheading their science.”
Cheffins acted as sole agents for BioMed Realty.
