Plans have been submitted for up to 350 homes in Chipping Norton.
Ranier Developments is seeking outline consent from West Oxfordshire District Council to develop three agricultural fields to the north of the A44 London Road. The 17.11-hectare site adjoins another residential scheme to the north, currently under construction by Cala Homes.
Ranier’s scheme, which is to the east of the town centre, includes an affordable housing proportion of 40 per cent.
The scheme’s design & access statement, states: “The development adopts a landscape-led approach that prioritises environmental quality, visual character, and community benefit.
“It aims to create a distinctive sense of place, with a gradual transition from the more structured, formal character typical of the town to a softer, more organic edge.
“Structural planting along the site’s eastern boundary will be varied in size and species, creating a rich, naturalistic edge that blends the development into the surrounding countryside.”
The team on the project includes Turley on planning, strategic communications and its environmental impact assessment, EDP on masterplanning, landscape, ecology and heritage and Ridge on transport, flood risk and drainage.
