Councillors have approved the latest version of Wokingham borough’s draft Local Plan and public consultation is now due to start next month.
An extraordinary meeting of Wokingham Borough Council’s (WBC) executive on January 15 approved the Local Plan Update (LPU) which includes the proposed 15,000-home Grazeley Garden Town.
The council says that scheme will save hundreds of other sites from development.
The development would provide much of the housing needed up to 2036 and potentially up to 2050, allowing more than 300 sites put forward in the Local Plan process to be rejected.
