Plans for a solar farm in South Oxfordshire have been recommended for approval ahead of a meeting on Wednesday (August 23).

South Oxfordshire District Council’s planning committee is due to decide an application from Opdenergy UK 5 for the development of Dodwells solar farm on 112.8 hectares of agricultural land north of the A40 between Milton Common and Tetsworth.

The developer has submitted separate plans for the panels and cable route infrastructure, both of which have been recommended for approval.

The applicant is seeking permission lasting 40 years. The panels generate a capacity of up to 49.9MW, sufficient to supply approximately 13,750 homes.

The team on the project includes Pegasus which co-ordinated the environmental team and SDD, part of DLP Planning, which advised on transport.
